1. Editorial:

We would like to take this opportunity to inform you that the Interagency Panel on Juvenile Justice (IPJJ) will hold a workshop on “Restorative justice for children in conflict with the law: promising practices and lessons learned” on 5 November 2009 as part of our contribution to the First World Congress on Restorative Juvenile Justice that will take place from 4-7 November 2009 at the Catholic University of Lima, Peru. The Panel’s workshop will focus on sharing Panel member experiences of restorative justice programmes for children in conflict with the law that aim to respect and protect the rights of the child. Representatives from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Terre des hommes Foundation and Defence for Children International (DCI) - Colombia will share information on the promising practices and lessons learned from their programmes.
