IPJJ - Protecting the Rights of Children in Conflict with the Law (2006)     

The document entitled "Protecting the rights of children in conflict with the law. Programme and advocacy experiences from member organizations of the Inter-Agency Coordination Panel on Juvenile Justice" was published by the Interagency Panel on Juvenile Justice (formerly known as the Inter-Agency Coordination Panel on Juvenile Justice) in 2006. This book provides an overview of the Panel and its members, as well as programme and advocacy experiences in the areas of: legal support; alternative sanctions; capacity building and training; public awareness and advocacy; monitoring and reporting. The publication is now available in five languages: Arabic, English, French, Spanish and Russian. PDF, 112 pages.

NGO Advisory Panel - Violence Against Children in Conflict with the Law (2005)         

The document entitled, "Violence Against Children in Conflict with the Law", was published by NGO Advisory Panel of the UN Study on Violence Against Children in April 2005. This report of the thematic meeting on violence against children in conflict with the law convened in Geneva by the NGO Advisory Panel of the UN Study on Violence Against Children. The meeting was attended by representatives of NGOs, academic institutions and UN agencies. This report was submitted to the UN Study Secretariat as a contribution towards the Study. Manual published by the Consortium for Street Children in 2005 entitled "Police Training on Child Rights & Child Protection: Lessons Learned". The Manual provides guidance for police training on children's rights and child protection. PDF, 3 parts.

IPJJ - Permanent Forum on the application of the Juvenile criminal Justice Law. Costa Rica (2004)     

The document "Permanent Forum on the Application of the Juvenile Criminal Justice Law – Costa Rica" is a brief summary of a UNICEF project in Costa Rica which included, amongst other activities, a series of seminars and resulted in the creation of a Permanent Forum on the Application of the Juvenile Criminal Justice Law. This body then took over the training and advising role of UNICEF on the subject. PDF, 2 pages.

UNICEF - Juvenile Justice Administration in Nigeria (2003)     

The document entitled, "Juvenile Justice Administration in Nigeria. A Course Manual for Law Enforcement Officials Working with Juvenile Offenders", was published by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in 2003. This document is a course manual which focuses on the Administration of Juvenile Justice in Nigeria. The overview gives a brief description of the document: PDF, 1 page. UNICEF/ Uganda Police Force - Protection of Women and Children's Legal Rights     

The document entitled, "The Role of the Uganda Police in the Protection of Women and Children’s Legal Rights. A trainers’s manual", was published by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and Uganda Police Force. This Police Family and Child Protection Trainer's Manual is designed for use by trainers within the Uganda Police Force. Although the immediate user will be the trainers attached to the Family Protection Unit (FPU), it is hoped that the manual will also be useful to trainers at the police training colleges. The Manual is a training plan and has a session-by-session guide, complete with suggestions for learning objectives, preparations before the session, required materials, duration and step by step process. There are three sections to the manual. Section A covers topics designed to promote a change of attitude among police personnel. These include human rights, gender and gender analysis and their relevance to the work of the Uganda Police Force. Section B focuses on topics that will enhance knowledge and understanding of the rights of women and children, whether seen as victims of crime or as offenders. Section C focuses on training designed to develop investigation and counseling skills of the Police Force: PDF, 143 pages.

UNICEF Mali - Training Guide on Juvenile Justice     

The document entitled, "Training Guide on Juvenile Justice was published by the United Nations Children's Fund, Mali section. This document is a guide developed by UNICEF Mali which aims to provide trainers with the tools to develop a training programme for professionals on a child-orientated approach to juvenile justice. The Guide is only available in French: PDF, 239 pages.

UNODC - Independent Evaluation Report: Juvenile Justice Reform in Lebanon (2005)     

The document entitled, "Independent evaluation report of juvenile justice reform", was published by United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in July 2005. The report concerning Lebanon and contains many details: the background and context of juvenile justice in Lebanon; major findings in the areas of legal reform, awareness-raising, training programmes and institutional reform; outcomes, impacts and sustainability; lessons learned and recommendations: PDF, 48 pages.

PRI/ UNICEF - Juvenile Justice Training Manual (2007)     

The "Juvenile Justice Training Manual" was published by Penal Reform International (PRI) and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in 2007. This document is a fundamental tool in helping to organise child rights orientated training sessions. The training manual can be used by governments and other actors to organize training sessions tailored for professionals, including: judges, magistrates, lawyers, prosecutors, the police, detention staff, social workers and other actors that work with children in conflict with the law. A CD version of the Manual is available in English, French, Arabic and Russian from the Secretariat of the Interagency Panel on Juvenile Justice: info@juvenilejusticepanel.org. Tdh – Atelier de capitalisation de Dakar (2006)     

Le document intitulé, "Atelier de capitalisation sur la justice des mineurs", a été publié par Terre des hommes (Tdh) en 2006.
