DCI – CRC 53rd session: Information Notes on Juvenile Justice (2010) - 26 February 2010

The document entitled “53rd Session of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, Information Notes on Juvenile Justice Related Issues, Cameroon, Ecuador, Israel and Paraguay” was published by Defence for Children International (DCI) – International Secretariat in January 2010. It compiles and summaries how juvenile justice issues were addressed in the State party reports, NGO alternative reports and the Committee on the Rights of the Child Concluding Observations for Cameroon, Ecuador, Israel and Paraguay. Each information note focuses on the following issues: legislation, minimum age of criminal responsibility, trial conditions, number of children and length of detention, alternative measures, re-adaptation/ re-insertion of children, training of professionals, other relevant areas and transversal problems.
