European Parliament - Resolution on juvenile delinquency: women, family and society (2007) - 19 March 2008

The document entitled, "Juvenile delinquency, the role of women, the family and society", the resolution 2007/2011(INI) of the European Parliament was issued on 21st June 2007. Taking into consideration the high risk of social exclusion and stigmatization of minors, as well as the growing number of juvenile delinquency cases, the Parliament invites member states to encourage families, schools and professionals to focus on prevention and protection of the rights of the child. It also recommended that member states, in collaboration with the Commission, put in place minimum common standards (“a European strategy”) in three core areas: prevention, judicial and extrajudicial measures and rehabilitation, integration, social insertion, on the basis of internationally recognized principles: PDF, 11 pages.
